    Setting up in Singapore remotely?

Anyone here incorporated a Pte Ltd in Singapore as a non-resident? I hear you need a local director and it's possible fully online now, but what's the real hassle with banks and compliance? Thinking of using it for Asia ops.

It's doable remotely these days – no need to fly in. You do need at least one resident director (often a nominee service handles it), and registration through ACRA is quick, like 1-3 days. Banks/EMIs can be trickier for non-residents, but many get multi-currency accounts set up. Taxes are attractive at 17% with exemptions for startups. Found this breakdown helpful for the steps and what foreigners actually face: Company Registration in Singapore (Pte. Ltd.) — End-to-End | Taxus – covers the resident director bit and EMI options without hype. Solid if you're eyeing SEA expansion.
